4.5/4.5 Today. My partner's back in action. I felt like it was too easy though. I had to go at a slow pace 'cause my partner's a little slow. And I feel like when I'm going slow, it puts more stress on my ankles. Whatever...

My knees get sore if I run for extended periods of time below my normal pace. And this is why my training plan is so grueling...

Did 4 miles today. Played an hour of basketball this morning too. Don't feel a thing. I don't think I'm doing it right. I should be sore like a mofo like my friend...

Nice run, Mega! I've logged 30 miles so far this week. Man, taking 8 days off did a number on my legs! They've been sore all week! I have a 10K race tomorrow that I am doing just to try to help my team out, but I don't know if my legs will be able to handle running any faster than a slow plod!

Thing is, a slow plod for you would be an all out, adrenaline induced sprint, like my life depended on it. Matt, you'll do great.

Nice job, dude! Beat me this week (only did low 40s). Well, I ran the 10K this morning, wish I could say I raced it but there is no way I can use that word to describe what I did. The first mile is straight downhill, and even trying to run slow, I logged a 5:16, and was in probably 30-40th place. After that, the wheels fell off as I slowed down like crazy; was doing about 6:30 pace at the end. I didn't feel like I was hurting and my breathing was fine, my legs just couldn't go any faster. Oh well, I can only improve from this point on! Did about 12 miles total.

35 miles this week. Ran the North Carolina Roadrunner's Club Invitational 1/2 marathon this morning. The course was through Ulmstead state park in Raleigh. I don't seem to recall a flat section. There was a part called Cemetery Hill...the horrors, the horrors. Did it in 1:38:47, just 12 seconds off my personal record (set on a flat rail-trail course). Not sure how I did it, but I have been doing a lot of speed work lately.

Just looked up the official times. The above time was the gun time. My chip time was 1:38:34 which is a new PR by 1 second!

+13 yesterday.

The boy and I did a half-marathon. I can't imagine doing that at his age (12), but he was a trooper and finished strong. 2:08 - I was impressed!

+3 yesterday.

I slacked off most of this week after doing something weird to my shins on Monday/Tuesday. Time to get off my ass.
