Small 5K race this morning at a local college. Ran against a bunch of wipper-snappers 1/2 my age. Came in 4th overall at 19:25! Was hoping to go under 21 minutes. Marathon training does pay off!

wow, dude, that's awesome! Nice time, and you are right about marathon training! Every breakthrough I have had has come after a period of high-mileage marathon training. Aerobic fitness is key!

I ran another 4 miles this evening. Pumped for tomorrow's 15K!

7 miles into a 13 mile route, my right knee started to throb. I guess I haven't fully recovered yet. Had to cut it short to 10 miles.

(edit. Figured out it's the distal ilial-tibial band. Talked to the physical therapists at work, gotta lay off the long distance stuff for a couple of weeks. Nuts!)

9 really hilly road miles today. Not fast but we did hold an 8:45 pace which is good for me on hills. Oh and it was sunny and warm out.

13 miles yesterday (15K race hilly as hell, got 3rd overall in 53:32), 10 very easy miles today on the greenway trail.

On Monday I went with my roommate for a rather slow run, so yesterday I pushed myself to go as fast as I could. Humbling experience!

+3.

Looks like that's about as far as I can go before the IT band starts to make itself known.

4 miles this am, 10 miles this pm with a nice track workout: 3200m, 2x 1600m, 2x 800m. It hurt like hell because I'm still tired from Sunday's race. Good workout though.

5 miles in the rain tonight. Oddly I didn't hate this road run, the rain made it bearable.

3.1 miles today. IT band feels better. Another 5K race on Saturday coming up. Hopefully I can ramp up the miles soon.

14 yesterday, 8:39 pace. Longest run we've done in a while, felt great. Awesome work drteming! I've never won anything, but I'm not a fast guy. I'm old and fat. haha

I haven't posted my mileage for 5 weeks! Since then I've slacked my way to 50 miles or so. Slowly starting to increase again after a slow winter though.

4 miles through the village of Watkins Glen tonight to stretch out and loosen up the legs. It was a nice evening.

3 miles Saturday at the Rugged Maniac 5K in Asheboro. Wasn't concerned with a time just a finish. :)
