personally, I'd go with a 16 inch sub. Steak and cheese, toasted, pepper relish, rather than the banana rings, mayo, lettuce, oil, tomatoes...

Atlas 12

everything i have heard about these woofers is amazing. ive never had one myself, but everyone is currently raving about them. they sound good, get low, and are just overall amazing woofers.
Wire it up for a Qts of .33, and in a 2 cube sealed box">http://www.ascendantaudio.com/Atlas%2012%20low%20Qts%20T-S%20specs.htm</a> and you will have a very good response curve and some serious power. it is a 4 ohm sub, so your current amp will work with it better than you think. no one has ever said these subs dont put out.

That is my reccomendation.

You can immediately discredit any post where the author claims a smaller sub is "tighter" "less boomy" "faster" and so on. It's one of the biggest myths in the world. No duh your 12" rockford's sound crappy, they're rockfords! Duh. Faster? That's nice, but you know it has to move further than a 15 to create the same amount of SPL, which increases distortion in the end.

Go with whichever size fits the best for you.

true to a point. XBL^2 subs have a very very very low distortion. but yes more excursion = more distortion.

Outside the car, surprizingly very little noise... However, i do need to do something about the back windshield. The plastic rear deck vibrates against it, so i have an extra piece of carpet shoved down in there for now :D

Though it has been 'cleaned up' a little since I took this, heres a look after I just put everything in.

Edit: And here's my Pioneer HU/EQ setup that I have also 'cleaned up' since taking this with a proper doubledin mounting kit.

is that an L5 or L7?

Make sure your license plate on the back doesnt rattle either. I covered the back of my license plate with dynamat, and that really helped. About the back dash, I used little pieces of weather stripping rubber (soft) and plugged them into the little spots between the dash and window that I thought were vibrating. really helped and was a cheap fix.
