Film could work if you get an internship. But yeah, the rest of those suck. I thought about studying communications, but the course description was so incredibly vague that I just thought to myself, "this can't be good." So now I'm thinking of majoring in Spanish and International Affairs, along with learning some other languages. Then I can be the guy at the company who speaks like 4 languages and knows about...international stuff.

Edit: On the religion talk, I agree that it is useless for most people. I know someone who actually had trouble getting a job because he was considered "overqualified" since he had a Master's in Religion/Theology. They actually accepted him as a cell phone salesman after an interview and then refused, saying he wouldn't stay there long. Easily one of the most easy-going guys I've ever met and he was pissed. He and his wife had to move all over - I don't even know where he is now.

Uh...what? "Doctor" itself is a title, but I'm pretty sure you have to have a medical degree to work as a "hospital doctor." And would you clarify the lawyer comment?

Heh, that's really not all that uncommon. When I got pissed off/tired at working at one job, I tried applying for a job in a different industry (insurance company where I have a friend). I was told I was over-qualified and wouldn't stay there long either.

Quick search on pastor's(esp non-profit) average salary shows that they pull in nearly 6 figures income on average.
Not bad for herding sheep once a week.

A misconception. Not all engineers are sitting around inventing the internet and making the world a better place. Most engineers are sitting around doing mundane tasks and designing forgettable, worthless things, and of course occasionally popping onto tech sites to talk shit about how they are doing such a service for humanity through their chosen profession.

I never made that statement, but I definitely agree with it. You become whatever you want to be with any other degree besides one in the sciences (such as Engineering/Chemistry etc). Those are the degrees that really have teh potential to limit a person.

hahaha limited with an engineering degree, that's a pretty stupid statement also. you can stay in the technical path or you can go into the management path. and there are about a billion different fields to go into so i wouldn't call it limited.

It's not all worthless. A lot of people don't use what they majored in. I have a revered engineering degree, which hasn't gotten me anything. I wouldn't mind doing something else in fact.

That's my thoughts too. Everyone that I know from my graduating class in mechanical engineering that was any good had multiple decent job offers in engineering. You had to have over a 3.0 to really be considered, but honestly that's not that hard.
