I still find the demands by people here that all Muslims answer for the actions of a crazed few to be absolute silliness, but that's a different issue.
Should the Pope not condemn violence? I mean... he probably wouldn't want to be seen as answering for the crimes of the "crazed few". Must be absolute silliness on his part to speak to the peaceful merits holding civilization together.
Or... perhaps men seeking peace understand a simple truth. That human nature is evil, that we cling to power, and if good men sit idly by and do nothing then our streets would run red.
All of us must answer for the crimes of our fellow man. It takes an effort to keep the peace, to calm blood fueds, and to tell a frightened public that there are still good guys out there. That acts of terrorism do not define us.
Feel free to deride those who blame all Muslims, but do not give pause to my call for an effort to answer for these crimes. An act of terrorism was carried out by men who believe Islam is theirs. Civilization needs to answer that heinous act, and Muslims need to be standing there with us. The way forward is together.
