It is somewhat strange they haven't found a cure for it yet. They've had quite a number of years now and lots of funding.

Liver cancer isn't always caused by excessive alcohol consumption.

Causes of liver cancer

I agree with the ones that couldn't care less about tobacco-caused cancer/AIDS/etc in areas when educated consumption/sex is the norm.

I hear that is the cause of the original transfer of the virus to Homo Sapiens Bestialis.

I think it has been tested on animals, and for some reason the virus cannot live in animals.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but was thinking that was the case.

I hope you're not serious. Because if you are, then you are a fvcking a$$hole and I hope you die a slow and excruciatingly painful death, because you are overcrowding this earth and making an example of you will deter other people from spreading their genes.

I'm dead serious. I could go into a long, drawn-out reason as to why I think that but I'll spare you. I think AIDS is the population controller from a higher power. Life is valued too much if you ask me. I'm here because I'm here. If I were to die, what would miss? Nothin'. Just things that satisfy the physical and those that introduced me to this uninvited guest called 'life'.

Read up a little on the virus. It is one sneaky little bastard..constantly mutating, changing it's protein "envelope", hiding in all kinds of ways.

Honestly, we can't do jack sh*t with most virii. Think about the common cold or the flu....they've been around for ever...we keep attempting new vaccinations each year (that have varying degrees of effectiveness) and new strains pop up year after year and people keep getting sick.

Puts the war with iraq and the war on terrorism in perspective, huh?
Heck we should have help Hitler gassed the rest of the Jews. While we are at it we could just eliminate poverty Africa & lynch all of the Blacks to death.

A few more death out of tens of millions ( 72,000,000 ) in the World Wars isn?t that much huh?

Every unnatural death that can be prevented should be prevented. It is sad enough to see your dog die, and what you are talking about here are human lives.

Just think how you would feel if someone fly an airplane over your head and randomly dropping bombs on your home, hospitals, schools, and your family burial ground?

And what kind of pain if you would feel if that random shrapnel slowly bleed your love ones to death in your arms.

You sir is an ungrateful person that don?t deserve what your forefathers have created & left to you in your rich & peaceful country.

I'm not sure what your point is....I think that both aids and war are preventable(edit: and that they should be prevented). Once again, I'm really not sure why you called me ungrateful.

I still don't understand why we don't/can't quarantine these people. Give them a town with a mall and everything like they'd usually have then let them just live in solitude. There could be visits and sh!t but I think that's the only way it'll work.

as upset as you may be about it, he's right. humans are no more special than any other species on the planet, as much as we like to think we are. aids, heart disease, car accidents, murder, suicide; indirect or not, they are all population control devices that have been devised by no one in particular, over billions of years of evolution. humans are having their triumph just as the dinosaurs did 65 million years ago, but eventuall it will end and we will die. even though idNut sounds heartless, he's simply being realistic.

WE humans do not need to suffer the fate of so many extinct species. We are conscious beings that have in many ways overcome barriers set upon us by evolution. As conscious beings we have the ability to deliberately advance our species. We can help our fellow man, and by doing that we can advance our species. Some day humans may number infinitely among the stars. Or we may whither away into nothingness. It is up to each of us as an individual to do what we can to ensure that humanity survives. If we don't humanity surely has no chance. However, I beleive that we will survive as a species.

if we as a species fail (which will eventually happen the way things are) - dont you think thats the way things were originally intended to happen? and that humans aren't a successful (enough) evolution?

but i guess that goes towards the idea of fate.

Well, I actually think things are going relatively well. The AIDs problem might actually be delt with! President George W. Bush has significantly increased the finding our gov is using to prevent aids throughout the world. Under his plan, 50% of aids cases in the worldwill be treated with US money. It is up to the rest of the to help the remaining people - but I have faith that help will reach the people that need it.

Don't be disheartened by the pessimistic american media.

i dont want to sound pessimistic, but when we find a cure for aids, darwinism will already have come up with a new aids... or cancer... or bubonic plague... its a never-ending cycle.

And I love how the media makes such a big deal about a handful of dead astronauts

I mean yeah..... it was tragic, but the media never says anything about the thousands of people EVERYDAY in Africa that day from AIDS. (Don't let my avatar fool you, I'm not really black :D)
