No chance you will pass this class with just 10hrs of studying unless of course you are brilliant.

Way too many concepts to learn in that course. I know, I graduated with my accounting degree 8yrs ago.

I failed my Accounting II final as well, and ended up with a D in the course. Never underestimate the power of the almighty curve... if everyone else fails as well, you just might end up passing anyway!

To this day, I'm not sure how an Accounting course was supposed to help me be a better IT guy, especially considering that I had ZERO interest in developing financial applications.

Yup, 18 hours of accounting and all I learned was hire someone who likes to do this shit. Memorization was the only thing that saved me. The thing that pissed me off the most is that no one would ever ask questions. I mean come on, accounting in no way shape or form comes under the heading of common sense and it's only relationship to math is that they both use numbers. So, debit the fail and credit the lazy.

I have my bookkeeping final tomorrow morning. It's been a tough semester in this class for me...I've had to learn all new stuff, and in fact, I had to unlearn things along the way...(like the whole debits are actually credits to an account, and credits are actually debits to accounts...except when they're not...(you know...debit cards deduct from your bank account...but credit cards don't credit your account!) The monk who thought this shit up must have really been drunk at the time!
I THINK I'm ready for the final...the closing entries and reversing entries is a bit sketchy, but I SHOULD pass...

I've never tried the whole "skip lecture, don't open the book" thing. (in fact, since I started class Jan. 07, I've only missed one class) Not sure that'd be successful for me. I bust my ass, study, do all the homework, (usually twice or three times trying to grasp stuff) and in MOST classes, if I'm not the points leader, I'm at least one of the top 3-5.

I can't help but wonder why bother going to school, paying the fees/tuition/books, then not going to class or doing the work...I know for me, the information doesn't enter the brain by osmosis just from having the text in the room...:D

First of all, how deep in the hole are you? Will you fail the class with an F even if you were to get a A on the final? If that's the case then you might as well just keep neffing and skip the final entirely.

On the other hand, if you can somehow manage a B- or C+ will that at least get you high enough to get credit for the course? Acconting isn't the kind of class you're going to B.S. your way through with 10 hours of studying.

Try your best? You can never be sure that you're going to fail a class unless you try to pass first. You fucked up most of the semester already, so yeah, you're probably going to fail anyway. You should at least study and take your final, maybe you'll get lucky.

It sounds like you didn't care about passing the class in the first place, or else you wouldn't have attended only five lectures.

Amen, brother. So, which of the two kinds of accountant are you? The ones who spend all their time telling you why you can't do what you want to do (99.99%) or, the one in a thousand who tells you HOW to do what you want to do?

So I thought this would happen to me. Open notes and I left half of them at home not to mention I already gave up on the class. C+ somehow. I even wrote a "I'll see you next semester" on my final. You never know though! It wa sa tough class but now that I talk to ppl they said our professor graded easily despite the difficulty.

Don't worry about it, you won't even remember it in a few months. It's college.

Should I try to procrastinate (I attended only about 5 lectures of this class all year, did not read the text book, and winged the assignments / project). What should I do, I'm in panic mode right now and know absolutely NOTHING. BTW the class is Intermediate Accounting II

Any of the intermediate accounting classes are courses you NEED to do the work in. The only way you will learn that material is if you do it over and over again.

BTW, whats your major?
