Then the water thing..........I absolutely ENDORSE the idea of drinking as much of a gallon of water as you can. Those Crystal Geyser 1-gallon jugs with the plastic handle on top are GREAT for that!! You can refill that sucker for .25 cents at those water outlet stores....(we have 'em all over her in So Cal)......and use one bottle for about 2 weeks. Then replace it with a new bottle & repeat the routine over & over. If you don't get the full gallon down.......don't knock yourself for it, just make sure you get AT LEAST past the halfway point on that jug. This, too, will increase your quality of life tremendously!!
Lastly........if you're a beef eater......I'd suggest something that you don't necessarily have to do all the time, but at least try in the short-term. Start eating either Veggie Burgers or at least chicken/turkey burgers for dinner every night!! You can get some fat-free American cheese slices and put one of those on 'em & you'll be in heaven. I know it doesn't sound good, but if you can stomach the veggie burgers, try Boca, Original Veggie, or any other brands local to the grocery stores you shop at. Mix some veggies in there.........(I like "medley" veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots & squash.).
My typical day......(if you care to test it)..........
7am...........Quaker "Weight Control" Banana-bread flavored oatmeal. (Even better for you than regular packet oatmeal due to the increased fiber, protein and <1gram of sugar)
10:30am........Banana or Yogurt
1pm............6" Subway chicken, turkey sandwich w/ everything.....(I even have them include those spinach leaves in mine.)........you get the gist!
4:30pm..........apple or yogurt or banana (if I didn't eat the banana in the morning)
6pm-6:30pm..........walk, run, bike, shoot baskets. Whatever I FEEEEEEL like doing. Nothing that I don't WANT to do! (And some days I'll simply kick back & do nothing. Exercising every day is fine, but taking a day or two off here & there is also very healthy)
7:30pm........Boca/Veggie/Chicken/Turkey burger w/ American cheese! Veggies, or maybe a Yam.....(love Yams).
Anyway.........that's a sample day. Sometimes I mix things up a little differently, but that's a typical day for me. Approx 1,500 calories when it's all said & done & I'm eating frequently throughout the day.
You definitely *CAN* improve your situation & impress the doctor by your next visit!!
I'll also chime in that I think you should also get your weight down. Start by trying to lose 15lbs in the next 30 days. You should be able to do that steadily. Then maybe 10lbs the next month & see how you feel at 225! I believe you'll feel GREAT!!!!! :thumbsup:
