The OP should rename the title to: 1 in 8 neocons still live at home in their parents basement, have no job, still get an allowance, and cry like bitches all the time about the big, bad world they aren't part of yet. GAFL

The reason why all I've told you is that you've misunderstood is because I really don't know what else to say. I can provide links, but they will show you the same information that you've already linked. The problem here is not with the data provided, it's that you're drawing unsupportable conclusions from that data.

I like you, you're one of my favorite conservative posters on here. In this situation though we're talking about a subject that I am intimately familiar with and I'm honestly telling you that on this one you're just wrong.

Then I guess we're at a standstill. So be it.

I prefer my corn flakes with water too.

a friend of mine only uses milk for cereal. because his usage is so low, he uses powdered milk and just mixes some up in the bowl before adding cereal. *shrug*

Eww!

Blackangst and Eskimospy will have to agree that they are both right; the Republicans are the party of the rich capitalists and the Democrats are the party of the rich marxists.

I often eat ceral dry as a bedtime snack, high fiber and low fat. Of course I eat it with milk too, but I prefer at least 1% milk for cereal. If I couldn't get that then I'd rather eat it dry.

Still no righties willing to cowboy up and post a menu for eating on $1.37 a day or $500 a year?

Let me make the menu easier for you:

---------------------------
Breakfast: Oatmeal Gruel

Lunch: Wheat Gruel

Dinner: Potato Gruel
----------------------------

Oliver Twist: Please Sir ,I want some more.

I have not forgotten. I still have the spreadsheet ready for pricing so I can see how my first shot was. My sheet has 3 choices each for Breakfast, lunch, and supper. The thought was that they could/would be rotated or doubled up(leftovers) so that I could take the 9 and run the calcs to get a yearly total then divide out to a daily average cost. I think I might be a bit high on a meal or two but I won't know until I take the spreadsheet to the store. Unfortunately I've been extremely busy at work to get things put in order so I can leave for a Disney World vacation with my kids on tuesday. So again, I have not forgotten that I need to do this.

The fact you take that challenge seriously is pretty funny. No one intelligent believes $1.37/day is enough for decent meals. Any attempt to show otherwise would be comical. So in that case, let the comedy of unrealistic, phony layman fiscal paleoconservativism ensue! :D

You could easily get in the calories at $1.37/day but I don't believe it would be healthy. I'm sure many are on a diet no less healthy than it would be, but it can't possibly be close to optimal. I think for $3/day you could honestly start getting a meal plan healthier than the majority of people's. That would give you oatmeal, eggs, powdered milk, frozen vegetables and some limited fresh fruit like bananas and cheap flesh like tuna.

you'd be surprised how cheap food can be. my mom fed a family of 7 very well for very little money, relatively speaking. only buy things on sale, use coupons, etc.

Yes, but it's not nearly as cheap when someone else is paying for it.

I was on food stamps as a kid, I now pay more taxes in one week than I got in food stamps in a year. I guess from Republican point of view it would be better if I spent my childhood begging for food instead of getting an education, which is exactly why that point of view can't be allowed to prevail.

^ Nope.

But seriously, the phony fiscal conservativism around here gets pretty sad when you start pretending you can adequately feed full grown human beings with $1.37/day. La la land.

many who get food stamps already work, they're just not earning enough to make ends meet.
