oh crapola. i didn't know that. i better keep an eye open for a tually board. thing is... i have been spoiled by getting $40 amd mobo's.... those tually mobo's seem so damn expensive
That's sad but true... 😱

During my weekly routine inspection yesterday everything seems fine so far...no dents in the capacitors, not discolored, transistors look healthy... 🙂 Needless to say i have a small extra fan blowing on them to lengthen their lives 😉

The abovementioned friend had his rig up 24/7 for 2 months before the board busted...perhaps with normal (non-24/7) use the lethal overload never happens or takes more time *crossing fingers*
Mine is up for one month now...

EDIT: Here some info-linkie what may happen (pics)...especially for Abit-users...

Yikes! hmnnn. I guess if I fry my BF6, then I'll finally have an excuse to buy a P4 setup. Oh darn, and unexpected benefit of O/C'ing
doofus, to my knowledge you use the powerleap adaptor...doesn't it have an independent power connector/supply for the processor or is the core voltage still delivered by the mobo?

Define expensive. I got my ABIT ST6 for about $68 shipped from Mwave.com. You should be able to find other tually compatable motherboards for between 60 and 70 dollars US.

Doctorweir-

You're right. I'm using a PowerLeap Adapter. I was wondering what that other power connector was for. I guess I'm in OK shape, right?

Anyhow, I'm still looking for an excuse to upgrade if I can't get me rig to overclock past 1.4Ghz. 😱

Cheers.

You have to use the PL power connector. Mine worked fine for 9 months (1.2Ghz Tually in a Abit BX6(r.2) MB) then exhibited stability problems. It would never O/C over 3% since the early Tuallys were often dogs and the PL ip3T Ver.1.0 didn't support voltage adjustments. I RMA'd to PL and got a NEW CPU and Ver 2.0 PL adapter. Got a stable O/C @1.5Ghz.

THEN I changed to the SOYO TISU MB - same O/C - 1.5Ghz at default. However, the MB was only $51 shipped. I sold my PL adapter and ATA 100 PCI card to defray my MB costs which finally cost me less than $20.
