I could totally use some OT too. With the layoffs we had this year, however, I'm perfectly happy that I'm still getting paychecks.

Realize that Olds is being Olds & cleverly used a thread title similar to those that were locked last week. However, this thread, at least the OP, had substance to it. What Olds did here is quite a bit different than the nef fest last week that flooded the forum. Compare it to the following OP's which had similar thread titles that were locked a week ago:
$90.01... Is more than 9000 pennies
Priceless... Posting my life on ATOT
$13.37... The amount of money in my pocket
$1.99... Are you out of your mind? What year was it when the grand slam was so cheap?
1 2 3 5 8 13... I keep getting further and further away whilst going in a circular direction
$16.26... Filled up my tank
13.37¢ The economy is really screwing me up
281 330 8004... Who? (all the cool kids are doing it...)
8765309<sic>... Jenny
13.37... I am
$0.02... I'm giving mine to everyone.
0.9999999999999999999999999999999 . . . =$1discuss
$42 Gave it to a mod to smack a bitch up

Notice the difference. The above quotes were done for no reason other than to create more threads of the same type, all within minutes of each other. This current thread created by Olds isn't one of those types of threads. Although he did use a similar thread title. Or, perhaps he looked for a clever topic so that he could do this? I personally did not view this particular thread to violate:
5) Spamming will not be permitted... Multiple quick nef posts,... and flooding the Forums will not be tolerated.

That said, Olds has been around here for a long time. He knows the rules, knows when he's walking a fine line, and knows when he's crossed the line. He knew he crossed the line last time & accepted his vacation (and fwiw, served the full 7 days despite bsobel's offer to rescind the vacations 2 days early.) Not that this thread didn't raise a few of the moderator's eyebrows - it did. It probably falls under that "fine line" category. However, in evaluating which side of the line a thread is on, we will also consider the context (ex. are there a dozen other similar threads all made in the last 5 minutes), the poster's history, and try to take a guess at the poster's intent. My guess was that Olds wanted to make the post he did, but also wanted to yank our chains a little bit. We tolerate our chains being yanked a bit more from people we respect than from trolls.

Since it was obviously intentionally overlooked in the forum rules and stuff part of your post ATTENTION: OBVIOUS PARODY THREAD.

And just in case you or the other raised eyebrows need a clearer definition of the many uses of the word PARODY when used to lock threads please see the broad reaching Wikipedia definition of Wikipedia - PARODY. You can't just single out one user over another when arbitrarily locking threads just because of personal favoritism.

Not at all. But a private PM don't begin to cover the arbitrary PARODY problem. This is not pointing fingers specifically at anyone like Oldsmoboat or Dr Pizza, this just happened to be a high profile thread that had PARODY dripping all over it based on the title and was not locked. I am just frustrated with having parody posts arbitrarily locked just because someone else don't find them funny or interesting or on topic. This is OFF TOPIC for a reason. Parody, comedy, sarcasm, irony or stupidity is not a good reason to lock anyones posts.

you drive a snowplow?
The guys that drive the plows, they have a guy to tell them what to do. I tell him what to do.
I used to, years ago. I occasionally get in one to help or to show someone something but I am not supposed to. I run a loader and grader too but again, I am not supposed to.
I sit in an office or dive a pick up.
