That's how much I have made in overtime this year.
Usually I have 60 - 70 hours and it makes for a nice check before Christmas.
This year I have no OT and will get no extra Christmas money.
We NEED some snow!
Our plow trucks and graders are gathering dust, ski area are not open.
Global warming be damned!

The ski area can't bring their employees back so they are hurting in an already hurting economy.

The economies of many of the ski-resort counties is usually much worse than the rest of the state...until the snow gets deep, then things pick up.

After 2 "dry" years, things are much worse than normal. We NEED some heavy snow in the mountains this year or we ain't a-gonna have much water to drink next year.

They are making some snow here, but 90% of the runs are closed. Nobody is skiing.

Mt Baker (ski resort with the most snowfall in the US) is practically bone dry... we just had to cancel a weekend trip there.

At least you are allowed overtime. I Was written up last week for excessive overtime, mind you this was only 3 hours for the week during a very busy time for us. Pretty much sucks.

undoubtedly...and I'm on work comp disability...

When I was an OE3 business agent and represented the Cal-Trans maintenance workers, I didn't realize how poorly youse folks are paid.
One day, I happened to ask one of the equipment operators how much they made...he told me they started at about 27. I said "$27/hr? That's not bad." He not so politely informed me that it was $2700 per month...not $27 per hour...

That was about 10 years ago. I know you've gotten raises since then, but not much more than the usual 2-3% COLA raises, IIRC. (just looked at the CT salary schedule...that sux.)

Come to michigan! I swear we've had more snow so far this year than we've had in the past several years. This is the first time our ski areas in the northern part of the state are going to be open above 50% before the new year. They all opened for the season today.

I've also heard CO has been getting quite a bit of snow aswell...

We're supposed to get some snow here soon but definitely not enough to open anytime soon.

We really need some plows here. The county cut all overtime for the plow guys. I haven't seen a plow truck all year and the snow is knee deep.

I'll happily pay you to do our driveway!
