Two things: 1) Remember all the "liberal" media is talking about the hit piece on Biden and completely ignoring this. 2) I can't believe Democrats have completely ceded caring about families to Republicans. Supporting/encouraging families is important per pretty much every statistic. The problem is Republicans have preverted the term to mean traditional unions only, and then Dems act like only counter is "families/marriage aren't important."

As usual, Dem messaging is lacking and they just allow the GOP to suck the oxygen out of the room on all issues.

As far as Project 2025, anyone living in the US should realize this is an inevitability, whether it's 2024, 2028 or beyond. You think the groups leading this effort are going to temper themselves? Especially after another 4 years of Biden if he wins? They will only add to this document.

Like they said in the movie Gladiator, "People should know when they are conquered." Keep your heads low, survive, and ride out this period in our history. Will be awhile, though.

50/50 odds trying to fully implement the 2025 plan leads to a breakup of the country and possible civil war instead of a successful conversion to right wing autocracy. This is the inherent danger in table flipping but conservatives seem willing to roll the dice. They've convinced their voters there is no such thing as negative consequences.

Well then should start making preparations now because I don't see them ever backing off these policy proposals.

I do think that about half of that stuff will probably get tied up in the courts so there's that.

You all need to take a lesson from the enemy.. think long term.. not instant gratification.

Hold your nose and just vote Dem no matter what.. even if its Biden.

FFS do you see Republicans giving you universal healthcare, wage increases, climate policies, gun control, immigration control.. nope instead it's Project 2025 or something else to take away your votes.

They have done nothing to earn your vote but still people line up to vote for him because of social media brainwashing that our guy is too old.

It's a valid concern for sure. I don't seem them backing on their project 2025 goals, and fast tracking that to the calvin ball court for sure.

lol. if memory serves in that movie they are referring to Germanic tribes - people the Romans never successfully conquered and who eventually ended the Western Roman Empire that Russel Crowe represents.

Calling Chicken Little, come in Chicken Little. There are cracks in the sky.
The writing style, the details. They do sound sketchy.
But, in the majority, the OP is correct.

MAGA is a call to arms.
It is only proper that we respond in kind.

If Democracy is going to end at the hands of the American people, then Democrats might as well make it end on our terms instead of theirs.

Especially when people like you don't vote.

How are they pronouncing the first word there? Is it "Project" or "Project"?

Much of their worldview is based on projection, so the latter would be appropriate.

Good memory.
When the guy says 'people should know when they are conquered' he was wrong and in the end those people he was referring to were the ones who did the conquering.

So when you say it here you're saying the Democrats will win, haha.

How many years went by though, from that moment in the movie to the Germanic forces actually sacking Rome?

That's where we are.

Maximus died around AD180, Western Roman empire fell in AD476.

That said things happen faster now overall. We don't generally have 1-2 decade long sieges anymore.

Things are not working out that way. I am an armed Democrat. For that I incur hate. Democrats are liberals and liberals find guns to be dangerous in public hands. Liberals full of fury and rage at the loss of Democratic freedoms hate the the means you suggest to keep them. Liberals are internally conflicted by their own self hate. Can't protect themselves out of fear of others who will. I think you fail to see that your wisdom and understanding are for nought.

Now that you understand that the sleepers will not awaken in time to save themselves and that the calls to awaken are being shouted out in a dream, what will you do when faced with the fact that the situation is hopeless. What about the fact that people who sleep do so because they want to. Isn't it exactly what we feel we deserve. It's just your luck you were born in a world so so fucked up, no? A tiger above and a tiger below and the clock is ticking. Remember Smokey the Bear. Only you can awaken.

Americans were just spared its biting sting for a time. The world has always been tigers all the way down.

My own role, is possibly no role at all. Assess the situation around me, hope peace prevails, know how to use a gun if it does not. Still a bit short on that final part, I must admit. I have no training or history with violence. Where I fit between lamb or tiger I cannot say. Hope to never find out, but I suspect my fellow Americans won't let that go unanswered for much longer. Should that day arrive, I will look back fondly on the days when we yet had words to share. Maybe there will be a future where people still value those. Maybe I will still be in it. A dreamer can hope.

But the Romans literally never conquered them.
It's complicated. The tribes were conquered, rebelled, formed alliances with Rome, alliances were betrayed (in both directions), and intermarried with the Roman elite. By the time Rome was sacked, there wasn't a whole lot to distinguish those outside the walls from those within.

I agree that in later years the Romans incorporated a lot of Germanic peoples (they had no choice) but it doesn’t change the fact that the official borders of the empire never crossed the Rhine.

I don’t really care to debate Roman history, I just think it’s funny that @gothuevos is using a line from a movie that in a historical sense shows the exact opposite of what he is using it for.

So he is as good at history as he is at predicting the future.........

As an aside, I reckon Biden would be seen as more Presidential if his name were Maximus.

A safe option in my state.
Fucking pussy!!

I'm in the reddest of red states and I still vote.

I've been a target of the GQP for the last 30 years. I'm a disabled male sucking on the Social Security teat because of my MS, my oldest child is trans, my middle child is engaged to a black man and they have a biracial daughter, her oldest child is biracial also.

Stop being a pussy, go vote.

I need your advise. I have considered people who don't vote because they are above it all to be absurd as well as those who say both sides are shit and I am too good to vote for either, But with Biden supporting Israel militarily and what they doing with that aid to the Palestinian people I don't want to vote for him for President. What do you think I should do, eat my moral outrage and vote for him anyway because of the 100% asshole? I am in a bit of a pickle regarding all this?
