I just installed my new EPOX 8KHA + with 1600+ XP system. Everything works great, however I don't like the noise of the fan that is standard on the motherboard. It the loudest part of my computer, and I want low noise. Can I just remove it if I don't overclock?

what settings should I use to encode speech? I have some seminars on tape, and some of the tapes are not in that good a condition anymore. So I want to preserve them as fast as possible in MP3. I use Lame version 3.87. Thanks.

Well, I agree CDRwin is also a pretty good program. But still, that doesn't answer my question. Lets say I use CDRwin to make the cd image to the HD. And my reader gets those bufferunder/over runs. Will this give a corrupted cd image on the HD?

Hi, I know that if your writer doesn't support burnprove, and you have a buffer under/over run, you have a f$$ked up CD. However if I first make a copy of a CD to my HD and my reader produces a buffer under/overrun, does this give problems also?

Is there any way to cut some part of from a mp3 track? I've encoded a few audio cassettes, but now I see that I have sampled a lot of the noiseless parts from the tapes. And so each mp3 track is too long because of this noiseless part.
