I just installed my new EPOX 8KHA + with 1600+ XP system. Everything works great, however I don't like the noise of the fan that is standard on the motherboard. It the loudest part of my computer, and I want low noise. Can I just remove it if I don't overclock?
 
Yes you can remove the fan. It's for looks mainly. You should be okay if you don't overclock. Although you might think about getting just a heatsink and attaching it just to be safe.
 
I realize the noise also. Try loosen the screws first and see if the noise stays before you remove it though. The noise I experienced was cause by the tight screws.
