I would imagine so - I think the 250 card takes about 15% CPU time on an EPIA M10K when encoding. Playing back 320Kbps MP3 take about 15% CPU & watching a DVD via Power DVD takes about 40% CPU time...

Just run the fan at 7volts - still cools effectively & is much quieter. Hope this helps. Nigel

The noises you are hearing are common accrosss the entire Shuttle XPC range - infact most SFF 'cubes' suffer from this phenomenon, some more than others. It's basically caused by noise pickup in the cables that run from the mobo header to the audio jacks on the front. I have seen mods that claim...

Genereally, Shuttle don't make their XPC mobo's available for re-sale, only for repair. Whenever they have been available, they have been for more or less the price of a complete XPC.. There aren't any other boards available that will fit... :(

The 9800 will fit in any Shuttle except the SV24/25, SS40, SS50, SB52 & SB62, as these don't have an AGP slot. There are issues with the 9800 & 9700Pro in the SB61, I beleive. Generally the AMD based SK41 is the cheapest out there - it's very stable & one of the most relaible Shuttle XPC's out...
