Hello AigoMorla,
Yeah I'll definitely stick with the Arctic Freezer.
As for the NH-U9, the dimensions aren't even close.
NH-U9 L x W x H (with fans) = 120mm x 95mm x 125mm
...whereas:
Arctic Freezer L x W x H (with fans) = 124mm x 156mm x 152mm
Absolute worst-case scenario, if things get...
Hello TCSenter,
Unfortunately, I didn't know at the time what sort of Hell I'd have to go through to get this system configured.
Now that I do, I assure you, I will never do this again.
That said, I work at a small company and will be the primary user of this system (for video/IP testing)...
Hello AigoMorla,
Thank you for the input.
That said, unfortunately the NH-U9 thermal throttles on 280W CPU's like the 3995WX (per AdoredTV comparing the NH-U14, NH-U12 and NH-U9).

Hello All,
A user at Tom's Hardware was able to solve the problem.
I didn't know the taskbar could literally be dragged (to increase it's size), and didn't know what my Dad did (assuming he enabled some weird tablet mode).
Problem's been solved.
Thank you,
Nelson
Hello,
My Dad was fumbling around on his Windows 10 system, and he accidentally pressed something (he's not sure what), which caused the taskbar to increase massively in size:
Does anyone know how to restore the taskbar to it's original size?
Thank you,
Nelson
Hello BonzaiDuck,
Thanks for the input (as I'm certain an active solution would've worked for me). Ultimately I decided to select different components so that the extra PCIe slot wasn't necessary.
Furthermore, given that it's for a company build, I didn't want to chance something not...
Hello,
My company is building a 64 core Threadripper Pro (3995WX (or 5995WX if our system builder can get the CPU on launch day)), and I was curious what air CPU heatsink you would all recommend?
The case for the system will be the following Supermicro chassis ...
AigoMorla,
I was looking at doing what you mentioned as well, but rather than use a sponge, looking at a brush kit.
That said, the issue was resolved with the system builder 3D printing out a 5.25" bay with the necessary ports (which is extremely cool).
Thank you,
Nelson
Hello In2Photos,
I was planning something like that, but later found out that the system builder can 3D print their own 5.25" bays.
With that, I was able to get a 5.25" bay with:
2x BNC passthrough holes
2x HDMI ports
4x USB 2.0 ports
1x USB Type C ports
So thankfully, problem is solved...
Hello Fallen Kell,
Thank you very much for your input.
A few more questions for you (to confirm some things):
1. Can I assume the VPI card supports both Infiniband and Ethernet?
2. If so, can I assume it's preferable to go with the VPI card (to use Ethernet now and then in the future just...
Hello,
My company wanted to purchase a NIC with dual 100 GbE ports utilizing QSFP28 that must work with Windows 11 Pro.
From what I can see, Nvidia's Mellanox ConnectX-5 cards seem to meet my company's criteria.
However, the card that I was initially planning to purchase : MCX516A-CDAT...
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could provide me a link to a 5.25" drive bay brush kit.
Brush kits are usually used in the audio world to pass cables back and forth within a patch bay (which is useful for cable management)...
Hello Tigobr,
I thought as much.
Yes, I will avoid using the PCIE extenders.
Thank you very much for your insight / experience with the extenders, as no one could give me a straight answer.
Regards,
Nelson
Hello,
My company has been trying to build out a pretty complicated/fully custom system for the past few months, and I've been having trouble dealing with some of the system builders (specifically when it comes to price - as I'll make a change that shouldn't cost that much more - only to find a...
