Mobo: Giga-byte GA-7DXR
My system does not shut off manually with the power switch on the case. Is this an issue with my motherboard? or is it a bios issue? There is an option in the bios for "instant power off" I believe that option is for instant off when I shut down from windows. Anyone...
ok so here's an update:
i've reformatted the computer with the WD ez-install disk. i think it defaults to fat32 format unless you specify that you want fat16 for running NT. i go ahead with the fat32 and then i proceed to install win2k. i was able to install win2k up to the point where it was...

i am not using the raid feature on my mobo. it's there but i don't have any drives hooked up to the two IDEs for the raid. everytime i boot up, it always show the promise controller trying to look for a device and says that there are no drives connected. sounds right since i don't...
well, i ran the diagnostics for the drive with the lifeguard tools that's from WD. I ran both quick and extended checks and nothing was found. everything seemed fine from there. i guess it might be a corrupted OS? any more ideas...
system:
- athlon 1.33GHz
- gigabyte ga-7dxr
- 256mb DDR
- tdk burner

these errors started recently. it all started with a missing or corrupted file "csc0.tmp" the error kept popping up on randomly and i couldn't find it to delete it or repair it. i installed norton...
i've been getting all these stop errors and blue screens from my system. i've been trying everything to find out what's wrong. i just boot up with the 2k cd to the recovery console. i tried running chkdsk and it says that there are errors that are unrepairable. is my only option to reformat...
yea, i just tried booting up with the 2000 cd and that still goes to the blue screen. i think i may be out of luck... i think my only option left is to install my drive on another computer and backup my files. thanks anyways
i keep getting the blue screen while booting up. it occurs right after the black screen with the status bar at the bottom. once the status bar is loaded, it goes right into the blue screen. i can't even get it to boot in any of the safemodes. i think it is stopping because of an ntos kernel...
my system has been running buggy and i tried to perform a chkdsk and it prompted me that it is scheduled for reboot. eversince then, it's been running the check on boot-up and it doesn't seem like it finishes. it just prompts that it is "verifying files and folders" and then it goes into...
thanks for the suggestions anyways, i have used norton ghost at a prior job. it was used to clone user machine and it was very convient when used to rebuild messed up machines or just to clone new ones.
it kind of bugs me that w2k doesn't have a "scandisk" util like 98 did. the chkdsk doesn't...
i understand that tmp files are deletable too but the case is that i can't even find this file on my computer. i've looked in the directory unhidden stuff and still don't see it. i have no idea why it's saying that the file is corrupted.
well anyhow, my problem now has escalted further. the...
i've been getting this "windows - corrupt file" error stating this:
"The file or directory \WINNT\CSC\csc0.tmp is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."
i've run the chkdsk util many times, in fact it still runs everytime i boot up. i've looked on microsoft knowledge base and...
