Thermaltake Volcano 9 CoolMod - Any good?

Has anyone tried the Volcano 9 CoolMod? I was attracted by the fan that changes colors when the hdd kicks on and off. But is that just a gimmick?

    Good W/Cing store/website...

I am partial to Innovatek, but that may be a cost issue for you. In addition to Danger Den and Swiftech, there's also D-tek, Ahanix, and Koolance. All depends on the size of the tubing you want to run.

Anybody ever try using accoustic dampening material?

I don't know if this could be an alternative choice, but there's something called a paxmate from Akasa that dampens noise. Its an absorbtion pad that you can cut to fit and has adhessive tape.

    graphics card coolers?

There's actually a Zalman 80-HP and 80A-HP. I'm not sure of the exact differences but the 80-HP did not fit all cards because of its size. The 80A-HP takes this into accout and has resized edges so that it will work with all GPU cards that have the heatsink mounting holes. The performance is...

recommendations: out of the box water cooling

For a complete out of box set up. I've seen the Ahanix Iceberg, but I haven't used it myself. I am running an Innovatek watercooling set- Its a bit pricy at $250. Worth it though if you want the quality.

Zalman 5700D Pentium IV Cooler with Ducted Fan

Its kinda noisy in the high end fan mode, but not so bad when you crank down the speed controller. It works pretty well and keeps the ambient temp in the case down. I like the idea of directing the air out to the exhaust fan, especially if you don't have good circulation in and around your case.

    Water cooling- Whos the best?

I have an Innovatek system. Its the best and really top quality. But you have to pay for it. A kit runs about $250 plus upgrades on radiators and pumps. I say its worth it though. Check out Tom's Hardware review... http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/02q3/020701/index.html
