Hello Got a question after overclocking your pc (stable overlocking) Should you turn on thermal throttling (TM1 and TM2)? So ever in case your pc runs to hot for some known reason (like cpu fan failure, or high rooms temps) having thermal throttling can possibly save your cpu from dying...

My idle temp are: Core1 = 42c Core2 = 39c Core3 = 37c Core4 = 40c Cpu = 31c I am clocked at 3.2Ghz. My Load temp are: Core1 = 63c Core2 = 63c Core3 = 55c Core4 = 55c Cpu = 55c As you can see the load difference between cores is 8c.

I tried the 356X9 and It's true I do get lower temp by 3c on full load.

Re flashing p.30 didn't work So I installed p.29 and now my boot time went up 30 seconds. Before I only saw 6 vista loading but now I get 16 loading bars before I get to the desktop.

I'll try P29. I thought I was a bug to because temps are now well in the range to thermal throttling doesn't kick in and C1E is disabled and It happens is randomly after I the computer has been off of hours also my time setting sometime get messed if I cut the main power swicht on the Power...

jag87 you have a good sense of humor. I see that you are at 3.6Ghz. Did you overlock your Intel Xeon to get this speed. I'll apply the AS5 today and see if temp are any better than the white compound that is applied now. Thanks for all your help.

no stability issues at all. I am using patriot Extreme performance 4gb X 2 800Mhz (6400). It was expensive thou about $450 at newegg.com. best feature It has heat sink plates installed on it.

In my experience 680I had no problem handling 8GB but Window vista 64 on other hand would do first boot unless i remove 6Gb. I had to call Microsoft to figure this one out. They helped me find and install a patch from Microsoft updates to make it work right.
