I have a Q6600 B3 at 3.2Ghz (400X8) and I just got the th120ex yesterday but my load temp are still high:

Using everest

vcore from cpuz = 1.304v at load
vcore from speedfan = 1.3v

prime95 small fft temps

cpu = 60 c
Core = 70, 70, 68, 68

room temp 28c

Should I step down to 3.0Ghz. advice needed. Thanks.

It could be that your fsb is at 400 which is giving you the additional heat. Try your multiplier at 9 and your fsb at 356 (I think that gives you 3.2ghz off the top of my head) which is what I am able to do and my load temps are 59c - 64c. Idol I am at 38c - 40c. this is all at 1.3000v for me... but then again each chip is different....

I tried the 356X9 and It's true I do get lower temp by 3c on full load.
