I just bought the same router. The connection dropping is a known problem with windows XP when using WPA. Service pack 2 fixes the problem. I had the problem before I applied sp2. If you aren't using WPA, then maybe it's a different problem. Hope that helps someone.

It was the power supply. In the end it got worse so it wouldn't come on after it switched itself off. A tap on the side of the power supply made it come on. I switched a spare power supply in and have had no problems since. Thanks for the suggestions. Stinky.
