just got conroe score didnt jump much any help?

That sounds about right. 3dmark is primarily a 3d benchmark (hence the name) so a faster CPU doesn't make that much difference. My system gets 4400 3dmarks with a E6400 @ 2.13 and a 7800GTX. if I OC to 3.4ghz I get 4800. About 10% increase for 60% OC... But thats the overall score, The CPU...

How can a system be completely stable when overclocking?

Why are you so reluctant to give it more voltage anyway? Its not going to damage it.

    Gigabyte DS3 vs. S3

The only difference I can see is the DS3 has all solid capacitors, but I havent seen any reviews comparing them so not sure if it makes much difference...

What Mobo should I get for conroe?

Just get the DS3 It doesnt matter how many phase power it has. The DS3 has 3 phase and the DQ6 has 12 phase and the DS3 owns it at overclocking. Remember the Lanparty NF4 boards? they were the best yet they only had 3 phase power. The DS3 also has all solid capacitors.

How can a system be completely stable when overclocking?

Yeah, the vcore fluctuations are mostly caused by the motherboard not the PSU. Some voltmods should fix it... :D

How can a system be completely stable when overclocking?

Obviousely CPUs need more power when they are working  Anyway the point was he gets BSODs when at idle so more volts might not help.

    What do you guys think?

I see its hard to get a straight answer these days without getting into a conroe vs X2 debate :disgust: Short answer is yes, it will work, buy it.

How can a system be completely stable when overclocking?

Why not try putting your vcore up to about 1.5 and vdimm to 2.7 or 2.8 I suspect that wont fix it though, because technically it would need more volts in full load than idle...

What would cause a Video Card to do this?

Yes more clues are definitely needed. Anyway most likely is the core or memory overheating. Check the fan and make sure the heatsink is installed properly
