well ive been hearing that this mobo does not o/c well. however, on anandtech's review, this mobo actually o/c'ed pretty well...

i'm planning to o/c an E6400 to about 2.3 or 2.4

will my cpu last for bout 4+ years with stock hsf and two case fans

Sure the cpu will last overclocked for 4 years as long as you dont crank the voltage up.
Dont know if i would have a use for a computer that was 4 years old though :/

I've used a few over the years and never had an ASrock board die on me but they are the cheapest things on Earth so I have never used one for more than 6 months at a time.

Seems an aweful expensive way to go for only 2.4Ghz ... I'd seriously look into a 3800+ and asrock board for $210 total and overclock it for same performance..

I remember ECS boards are cheapest. Who makes ASrock?

AssRock has been doing well enough on the AMD side but I'd be hesitant to recommend it for Intel at all. Hell, buy a 6300 and a better motherboard and you'll probably be better served.

I built my 2.5 Ghz XP-M in 2003, and I could still use it for anything that I do now. Of course, it would be 20-25% slower than this 2.4 Ghz A64, but I'd hardly call it useless.
