depending on how old the power supply is, it could be your bearings. i haven't heard of dust causing noise in a p/su, but you can just vaccume it out through the vent slots and find out. if it continues, then you know it's the bearings.

hello. i know a monitor came with a system i made for someone with a asus board. i think it was called "Asus Probe" or something like that. i'm not sure what it monitors, but you might want to check into that.

i have 2x WD 80 GB 7200 RPM SATAs that run pretty much all the time. they have a single 80mm fan blowing directly on them, and whatever else air circulates to them. they are always cool enough to the touch, never hot at all.

someone's got a fanless power supply comming out, or already out. i can't remember who it is for the life of me tho. the whole outer casing looks like one big heatsink, with the coils all around. i haven't heard any reviews yet for it tho, so i can't really suggest it to you.
