can't see game servers over a lan

hello

i have had my new rig for about a month or so, and i can't figure this problem out. When i hop onto a lan game, and try to find the servers, they don't show up. The only way i can connect is by typing in their ip addy.

i've checked my firewall, and everything that i can think of. all tcp/ip stuff looks ok. my mobo is a asus P4PE black pearl edition. if anyone has any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think that some games work after you install IPX/SPX... At least that's what fixed it the last time I had your problem.
