If I go to control panel-add/remove programs there is a box at the top of the window that says, "Show Updates". Tick that and go all the way to the bottom of the list of programs and you should find RC1 waiting to be uninstalled.

If you go to run/gpedit.msc you get the group policies. Click on the bottom one and then browse the options under desktop and Start Menu. One of them is remove balloon tips--all balloon tips. There are other options you might want to implement.

AFIK, WinXP doesn't have autocomplete. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, etc. do have autocomplete. Since you asked about passwords I assume it's Internet Explorer that's the problem.

I believe that if you go to run and type gpedit.msc and go to user configuration/administrative template you will find a place you can turn that, and other, features off.
I have a Plextor and it's fine. But, I have friends with other CD-Rs that are also fine. I'd write specs that would include Burnproof and adequate support and then go with whoever gave me the best deal if I were in business. I'd probably spec Nero, too.
