Since I haven't seen the rebate coupon posted, could someone who got this let me know if there is a limit of 1 on the rebate? Also, does the unit come with the serial cable for the shutdown notify?
Thanx!

I haven't seen this posted, so...
My local Office Depot (Coral Springs, FL) has the APC Back-UPS 500 (500VA UPS) on sale. It is $75, with a $25 MIR. Their web site shows a price of $130 (same as APC's web site's suggested retail). The best price on Pricewatch is $100 (plus shipping).

I am assembling a couple of systems, and was wondering if there were any preferences for the positioning of the peripherals within the case. I assume that the general rule would put the item creating the most heat at the top, but since that would (I think) be the hard disk (which can't really...
I'm building up a new machine for the kids (9 and 11) and deciding what OS to inflict on them. It has to be some flavor of Windoze to run their various games, eduware, etc. Aside from lack of driver issues with Win2K, are there any major pluses or minuses either way? Machine resources are not...
I'm in the process of building up 2 new machines (one for me and one for the kids). The machines will be close to identical, but (because of randomness and things spotted in Hot Deals) I have 1 GF2 GTS (Elsa Gladiac) and 1 Radeon LE. I'm trying to figure out which to put in which machine...
Well, (assuming that the washers being talked about are insulating, since there are vias and surface mount caps near both mounting holes that would short otherwise) the major problem I see is that you'd likely have to use an even larger washer than the 7mm in the article. On the...
Would I be better off using a blue orb or a fan on the stock heatsink on the Northbridge of an Iwill KK266?
If the blorb, what would you use to attach it - the supplied tape? Since the mounting holes are 60mm apart, it wouldn't seem like the approach in link would work. (AS epoxy might be...
SDog, thanks for the info. I looked at the page you supplied, and was surprised that they recommended lapping the processor as well as the heatsink. For some reason, sanding that makes me a little more nervous than sanding the base of the heatsink...

Newegg currently has the Radeon LE for $78 and the MSI G2 GTS 32 (w/TV out) for $125. My question is, is the GTS worth $50 more than the Radeon LE? I don't care about the TV out, but do care some about DVD quality to the monitor, which I heard the Radeon is quite good at. Game compatibility...
Hey all,
I just ordered a Taisol CGK760092, and was wondering if lapping/polishing the copper plate was required or desired. If so, what did you use. FWIW, I will be using Arctic Silver.

Binar, the Sony floppy is here. To find it on OnVia's site, you need to bore all the way down through 'storage' and 'floppy drives' to '3.5" floppy drives' (which gives you the complete list of what they have).
