G2 GTS vs Radeon LE - is the GTS worth $50 more?

Newegg currently has the Radeon LE for $78 and the MSI G2 GTS 32 (w/TV out) for $125. My question is, is the GTS worth $50 more than the Radeon LE? I don't care about the TV out, but do care some about DVD quality to the monitor, which I heard the Radeon is quite good at. Game compatibility and peformance is important, but bleeding edge isn't (I'm not good enough at any of the games where it matters, and neither a GTS or LE is bleeding edge, anyway 🙂).

I'm a bit concerned about the fact that everyone assumes the ability to enable HyperZ and overclock the LE - has anyone been unsuccessful in this (since the parts are allegedly binned out lower quality or test failing regular Radeons)? For current games and/or DVD play, do either of these actually matter much?

if you are running win98 then the LE is probably the ticket. enabling hyperZ and overclocking the card are very simple. low res speed will be dominated by the GTS, but at 1024 and up an LE at 185/185 (i have yet to hear of one that can't make it that high, most make it to the mid 190s) will be within a frame or 2 of a GTS. DVD is an ATI strongsuit, as is 2D quality. 3D will be a bit richer too.

Plester are you saying the LE ain't that great in Win 2000?

I run exclusively Win 2000 and I'm thinking of an LE with the flash to DDR. I was also considering the Kyro II, but it's a fair amount more.
 
Eug - from reading posts over at Rage3d, it seems that win2k driver support is geting much better, but i run win98 so i can't talk from experience.
 
wow yeah, personally I would.
GF2 has greater raw power in both triangles and fillrate. option to go down to 16bit color when the going gets tough or you want fsaa in older games. can do "serious" OGL work. not to mention the TVout.
