Taisol CGK760092 - lap?

Hey all,

I just ordered a Taisol CGK760092, and was wondering if lapping/polishing the copper plate was required or desired. If so, what did you use. FWIW, I will be using Arctic Silver.

depends on how the surface looks. chances are that you did at least a little damage scraping off the thermal pad, so lapping would probably be a good idea.

SDog, thanks for the info. I looked at the page you supplied, and was surprised that they recommended lapping the processor as well as the heatsink. For some reason, sanding that makes me a little more nervous than sanding the base of the heatsink...
