Ok, here's the deal. I've been setting my virtual memory in Windows 98se to a static setting - roughly 2 and 1/2 times the amount of RAM installed on the system. However, 2 things:
1 - I've recently purchased a kraaplode of RAM because it is dirt cheap - 512MB to be precise (total cost=$130)...

ATA100 drives can be used on boards that only support ATA66. So, that shouldn't be the problem. Just make sure your ribbons are lined up right. The blue end should go into the motherboard - and the other two connectors can attach to either device in any order. If the ribbon is not hooked...
Phew! That was relatively painless. THANKS! Just for kicks - why would you not apply both? Would it actually hinder the cooling process? I imagine it would have something to do with adding an extra layer to tranfer through?
