The led may only stay lit if number lock is enabled in the bios...
As for the CPU being misread i have noticed a trend here... your 2 CPU's are being misread by approx 50% on both accounts.
Are they 66mhz chips trying to run at 100mhz? (thats approx 50% higher so might explain the problem)...

Also make sure that no software is set to 'auto-update' like your Anti-virus definitions, or any media players etc etc...
And go into scheduled tasks and disable all the scheduled tasks (you can always run these when YOU want... windows has this annoying habit of doing...

Well ive got an old 740mb knocking around somewhere which i know works... the click - beep - click has happened twice in 4 days (im on a diff comp at the moment cos i dont trust the beeping comp, i dont want to incur any damage)
Is it most likely to be the IBM thats the cause here and not PSU...

This is exactly what i hear... Click - beep - click
The 2 clicks are not as loud as the beep... its very similar to a POST beep but happens randomnly whilst the comp is in use.
I dont know if the problem is the hard drive... it may be anything else, i was kida...
