How bad is Intel GMA graphics in a laptop?

Right now I'm using a latop with Intel "GPU" running Win7 32 bit and play WoW on it 1280x800 Win7: as many posters said, definitely yes WoW: You can play (I get 20-50 fps with all settings on lowest) but forget about PvP

    GT300 Benchmarks

Best post ever! Jokes aside, i second Grooveriding's opinion that GTX380 (or whatever) will be faster than 5870 but not but much (unless nV orders to slow down games if ATI card present). Question is, will it offer the same bang for the buck? Maybe GTX360 will become the most popular (just as...

    5870 X2 is 5970..?

No need to hurry to launch this monster! The 5870 already beats the GTX295! Better sell 2x5870 than 1x5970!

Total cost of ownership (HD5850 vs HD4890)

I was hoping to buy a 5770 but then saw it has 128 bit memory bus resulting in 73.6 GB/s (4890 has 124.8 GB/s). Later I thought I'll wait for the reviews maybe it will be fine. Today I eagerly read the rewievs and MEH ... it's slower than 4870 (not a big surprise). 4890 is excellent even...

    GTX 285 or 295 ?

Get the 5850 as others advise you ... Humm, let's just answer your question :) The GTX295 is more expensive, more power hungry and makes more noise than the GTX285 and is SLI driver-optimizations dependant (if the game isn't SLI optimized, GTX285 may run faster). On your display resolution...

    ATI 5870 - Which One?

The 5870 runs cool and is quiet but the vapor-x coolers should make that great product even better. The only downside of vapor-x coolers is dumping half of the hot air inside the case. That's why i didn't buy 4890 vapor-x (one of the best price/performance/features cards before 5850 launch) but...

    Which card is the quietest?

Never buy a graphics card that dumps hot air INSIDE your case (like the MSI N275GTX Twin Frozr OC) if you want a quiet system. My PC is quiet at idle but becomes rather noisy when gaming! That's because the CPU and power supply fans ramp up speed as a result from the hot air coming out of the...

5770 or 5850? upgrade for my rig

No way 5770 being faster than the 4890 with the same number of shaders/TUs/ROPs and only HALF the memory bandwidth!!! But it will be definitely the next "bang-for-your-buck hit from AMD" IMO. That's why I plan to buy one myself when they are available :)

    DX11 questionnaire from nVidia

Yep, me too. I've had Riva TNT, GF 2MX 400, GF Ti 4200, GF 5200FX, GF 6600GT and a GF9600GT so I've been considering myself as a nVidia fan (not fanboy). Now I'll be looking for my next GPU among ATI offerings.

Need the best card for my setup without any additonal upgrades

+1 for that post! With a 1440x900 monitor, 5770 or 5750 are your best choice and you can keep your power supply too! If you prefer nVidia, the 9600GT is a great card and it's not very power hungry, just make sure its not one of the cheap DDR2 models.

Time for a new video card

You didn´t mention your monitor's resolution but here goes my advice: If you like ATI cards, go for a 4850 or 4770 (both are great and cost around US$110). Anything faster will be CPU limited on your PC. If you prefer nVidia: 9600GT, 9800GT or GTS250 1GB. Just make sure the 12V PCI-e...

    UpGrading video card

At 1680x1050 the 9800GT should do well in most games but if you really feel the need to upgrade, do as Spydermag68 said. Depending on your brand preference go for ATI: 4890 or 5850; nVidia: GTX260 216 or GTX275 or wait two weeks and buy a 5770 for much less money and less heat/power...

new video card 4890 overheating keep getting error. HELP

From your description it looks like a typical GPU overclock problem. I would never buy a factory OCed card from Powercolor. In fact, I dont like factory OCed cards at all. But if I were to buy one, I'd choose a more reliable vendor such as Sapphire, HIS or XFX. Don't get me wrong, i'm not...

    5850 now or wait?

Do as most users advise you: wait a month (or less) until prices drop a bit and you can get that XFX or ASUS card they are recommending. I will personally do something similar to retire my old 2600XT. It is struggling to drive my new 1920x1080 monitor! Right now I see 2 retailers in my...

    Single slot GTX260

Oh and it dumps ALL the heat in your case. Thumbs down from me. Only good application I see is a crazy quad-SLI (or a folding station) in a tight case/mobo but then again how will it cope with the heat from 4 graphic cards?
