GT300 Benchmarks

Anyone remember ATI and the associated fanboys of said company did exactly this same thing? Made up numbers with no machine specs or in game settings information published with a few bar graphs showing a 5870 to be significantly faster than the GTX295? That didn't pan out exactly as the rumors and fake graphs depicted. This is no different. It means nothing to get upset about it. No need to get worked up.

The numbers are somewhat believable, but isn't Farcry 2 a game that generally does comparably better on ATI hardware? And shouldn't physx weight the 3dmark vantage score even heavier in nvidia's favor?

I have 2 comments

1) if GT300 is indeed 2x faster, you can bet that NV marketing will stir the pot up long..loooong before it'll resort to some cheap trick over Youtube.

2) NV must think their buyers are a bunch of idiots. First the fake card. And now a kiddy youtube video. So far NV is able to get Wrekage to so post just about anything is proof

Yep. With the memory sizes one hears about, this could be a $500-$600 card for the top end.

I just want the damn things to come out so we can see some more competition.

2900 xt also had amazing specs but, well, sucked . gt300 could have the best specs in the world on paper but if they can't execute it well it will still lose. Or, if they DO finally execute it well but it takes them 6 mos then amd will be well into 5870x2 sales and 1/2 way to 6870.

or do you guys think that gt300 will also clobber 5870x2?

We don't know anything yet. Easy times for the 5870.

why does everybody seem to think that nvidia will be in exactly the same position relative to ati with the gt300 vs 5xxx series battle as they were in the gt200 vs 4xxx series battle? What about 8800gt vs 3870? What about 8800gtx vs 2900xt? etc etc. each gen is different, the only thing that we know for sure right now is that nvidia is devoting quite a bit of die space to gpgpu, they have announced around 3 billion transistors, and jen hsun is good with elmers and cardboard.

This is pretty far from certain, more likely not true at all, given that the extra trannies in GT300 went for purely GPGPU purposes.

trannies? as in transvestites? :Q

If it really was 2x faster they would be releasing pre-release cards to reputable websites to benchmark. 2x is a massive lead - it would kill the 5870 sales overnight.

Repeat after me: they DO NOT HAVE ANY WORKING CARD, people.

Conclusion: so far NOTHING IS CONFIRMED, EVERYTHING IS SPECULATION, based on low-clock simulations.

BTW it's time to leave this BS thread to die, I think - enough from Wreckage's BS-spreading topic.

So let me get this straight, the same score in Vantage as a GTX295, but it has twice the frame-rate in Crysis. 77fps on Very High? That's faster than 295 Quad Fire, 5870CF, GTX285 SLI by about 40%.

LOL. So the card is as fast as 6 GTX260/275s with linear SLI scaling.

Anyways basic rundown:
GPU: GT400
Release Date: November 20th 2009
MSRP: like 50ish bucks
Idle Power Usage: 2.2 watts
Max Power Usage: 8 watts

Benchmarks:
Top Secret Benchmark Leaks

Holy shit!

Ben why on earth did you not start a new thread with this unique info?

Surely a title along the lins of:

'Dont buy an ATI card, this NV card is a zillion times better at everything: benchmarks to prove it'

Best post ever!

Jokes aside, i second Grooveriding's opinion that GTX380 (or whatever) will be faster than 5870 but not but much (unless nV orders to slow down games if ATI card present). Question is, will it offer the same bang for the buck? Maybe GTX360 will become the most popular (just as GTX260-216 did) offering much better performance for your dollar compared to the top GTX card. Hope GTS350 will not be a 40nm GTX260-216!

posts.
😀 😀 😀

Really...? You don't think NV will EVER put out a faster, more expensive card than the 5870?

btw... before you start handing out labels... my rig:

Asus P6T Deluxe V2 | Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.5GHz | OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz | X-Fi XtremeMusic
XFX Radeon HD 5870 @ 900/1300 | Corsair HX1000W | Rocketfish full tower | EIZO FlexScan SX2461W

edit: to get a little but more on topic... IMO, the posted benchmarks are plausible, but they are most likely cherrypicked situations that show what whoever leaked or made them up wanted them to show. Then again, this is obvious and I really didn't think this needed to be stated.

You know what the irony is, a lot of the same people in this thread who are bitching and moaning... are the same people who believe every piece of poo that Charlie flings their way.

Thats not really ironic, your merely suggesting that some ppl on this forum are equally moronic as youself.

Are you implying that you are infact flinging poo aswell in hopes to attrack some flies?

You are ATi's Charlie!

Dude seriously, the only thing that is ironic here is that you are still a AT member

While obviously the validity of the video is in question, it would be nice to get something from nvidia before the end of the year. It doesn't look good though...

but the GTX480 is underclocked and still OVER 9000! I think it just broke the scaling being so high

When someone thinks these benchmarks numbers are plausible while there is no card in existence I rest my case. 😀

Your title is misleading, even by your standards.

Leaked, completely unverified "benchmarks" (or made up numbers) on a hand-picked resolution to exaggerate difference (Nvidia has always been better at lower resolutions) don't even verify your "2x as fast" claim.

The 3 benchmarks are:

Crysis Very High DX10, 1680X1050

5870: 43fps
GT300 75 fps

GT300 advantage: 74%

Fary Cry 2, Very High DX10, 1680X1050
5870: 106
GT300: 177

GT300 advantage: 67%

3Dmark Vantage
5870 16098
GT300 23098

GT300 advantage: 43%

--------

Perhaps a title of "74% faster in ideal conditions at 1680x1050" would be more accurate.

How come that the HD 5870 scores 16098 and I score 17277 with the latest beta opencl drivers with my HD 4870? Are they using a Celeron? It's a fake, period. In the end, if nVídia's card was meant to be twice faster than the HD 5870, why their silence? Uncertainty? Non working hardware? etc etc, surely will be faster, hopefully, we need competition.
