I really don't think you will see any more performance by reinstalling (what i guess is windows95) just know that the newer OS you install on there the more CPU Usage it will need plus more ram.

no what you need to go by is the PC speed of the ram ..like PC3300 or PC 3200 and so on. ECC registed ram is alot of money there dude. I mean you can buy it you want but it's mostly used for servers.

Yeah i have a pny 6800 GT bos flashed to ultra .. 420 core ram 1.1 gig.. Runs just as good as the ultra saved myself $100.00.. why should i pay 100.00 more for the ultra am never goingto use the dual DVI. But yeah 6800 is a great card.

Yeah like he said you may want to think about upgrading ..lol...That motherboard is not worth the the time to put into it to fix it. you can get deals on new boards with cpu and ram from computer shows somewere in the $300.00 mark. but if you want to try to fix that one ..I only say GOOD LUCK!
