Technoteaser - if you don't have a PC card slot on the 1210 (and I'm not sure you do), the USB version which is also on their website should work for you. Still don't know about the quality of this item, though.

I use Landware's Pocket Quicken 2.0. It's not free, but I find it to be very useful, especially since I have Quicken on my home computer.

Have been carrying around Palms for a few years now (first a Vx, now an m505). For me, I found the key to its use was its accessibility (i.e., it's only useful if you've got it when you need it). So my advice would be to get one small enough so you'll carry it around on a regular basis.
