The fact is that both the viewsonic and sony are awsome monitors. People who bought a sony say its great cuse it is and the same for viewsonic. Personally im getting the sony 420 in a couple of months just becuase I have a sonycentral store not too far away and ive seen the 420 win the best...
yeah the ppl at overclockers dont think all that much of them in general. Not that great at power regulation apparantly.
Apparantly sparkle is a great brand but seeing as i cant find one anywhere in Aus im going for some serious overkill with the 550 watt enermax. I figure if i dont push it...

as far as noise goes, cork is good but the best stuff i have found is called ester foam, has a very high db/noise absorbtion ratio
its not too expensive either.
you should always run your monitor at 85
if you run higher or lower you shorten its life.
I didnt think the human eye can notice a difference after 85 anway so why bother going higher and shortening the monitors lifespan ?
