Why do people say Enermax 350w PSU is crap?

I have one in this box and the 5v rail never goes below 4.84v @ full load or +11.98v on the 12v rail

Not Crap, One of the best darn PSUs ever made. If anyone disagrees, tell them anythings better than their deer PSU.

yeah the ppl at overclockers dont think all that much of them in general. Not that great at power regulation apparantly.
Apparantly sparkle is a great brand but seeing as i cant find one anywhere in Aus im going for some serious overkill with the 550 watt enermax. I figure if i dont push it anywhere near its max output that power regulation shouldnt be a problem.

Mine works fine for me. The effect of a powersupply on a system or overclocking results is SOOOOOO over-rated.

Mine works fine too, AND I use it with an epox 8KHA+ which is said to dislike it. I never had a so stable system.
BTW, after 6 hours of use, Motherboard monitor reports 5V rails values between 4,7 and 4,87V. It seems to be a little low.

I had a Enermax 330W Whisper PSU. I thought it sucked. The term Whisper hardly seemed appropriate. I think they should have renamed it to the Enermax Megaphone.

Strange, on my Abit KR7A and whisper 350, the 5v rail is EXACTLY 5V. Perhaps somethings not right...

I think Enermax gets a bad name because they have a poor waranty policy. If your power supply fries the rest of your system due to a power supply problem, they won't cover any of the other items damaged. I don't know if any other company does or not.

Most of what I hear comes from people who apparently have issues with it and Epox boards. Well Epox 8K7A and enermax 350 get along quite well. And it is vert quiet!

I have actually heard them get badmouthed as well.

I threw caution to the wind a few weeks ago and bought the Enermax EG365P-VE and I also have the Epox 8KHA+. I have my FSB at 144 and I have not had a lick of trouble. (I'd go higher but my damn duron 600 won't go past 866 and the board won't go to a 5x multiplier. If anyone knows how e-mail me pjason@nbnet.nb.ca .)
