holy crap...i was ready to rma the board since i tested everything else then i thought wth, and took the cmos battery out and let it sit for a few minutes and it worked...now i would have thought the several times i reset cmos would have done the same thing but i guess not.

im thinking its ram...i took the ram out and get the same beep code. going to try them in my system and see if its the modules or the memory controller on the board that took a dump.
Just set this little system up for a friend and everything went very smooth during windows install...rebooted several times while installing various drivers and then after i installed dx9 and rebooted i get no post with one very long beep and it just keeps repeating. what's that mean?

nope, trust me this is the one that works...i have done it many times from my own lan(behind my linksys router) and can get on any server from multiple pcs on one ip addy. I think you might be trying to make this more complicated than it is...it is a setting within the game of quake 3 itself...
yes it is possible, one of you need to change this setting in the config or on the .exe executable.

by default both of you are set to 27960 and one of them needs to be different...that way both of you can play at the same time with no problems. punkbuster will still give you...
prices seem pretty good until you checkout and they added $109 shipping for just a basic computer....ouch...but for the family and friends with the 3 yr warranty it might be a pretty good idea to keep them happy and not spend too much time building one for them yourselves.
