it is true they don't have that much performance gain over seagate barracudas. i disagree that they are noisy though, even though a lot of people say they are. My raptors at home are very quiet ;)

celerons are designed for people who want a cheap computer. if intel made the celeron processor as good as the P4 Processor, everyone would get the celeron because of its price benefits.

do you need that much storage?, otherwise, you could get 2x raptors instead. i'm sure you would have extra hard drives lying around.

you don't need grub unless you are using linux (and you can use NTLDR with linux too). you can boot multiple os's with windows's NTLDR http://www.devhood.com/tutorials/tutorial_details.aspx?tutorial_id=313

thanks for the reply. it turns out that the hard drive was faulty. I got a replacement 200gb hard drive, and it is perfectly fine. sorry for all the trouble.

ok, so updating the bios might work? also, i have partition magic 8.0, and it shows a 137gb hard drive :(

i did that before, and it just gave me 137gb (128). i would prefer to have 4 partitions, but that wont seem to work either, because i cant even get the drive to show 250gb (232) right now. i was wondering if it has something to do with the bios because the bios only shows teh drive as 128gb...
