I agree, the averatec is a great choice if you don't need battery life. I would go with the iBook if that's an important factor. Either one will do a great job.

I have a similar problem with time warner. I have a wifi card, but I don't keep it in when I've got my ethernet cable in. It seems like the connection hangs every 15 minutes, and I have to pull the ethernet plug out, and then in again for it to work.

Weight is very relative. It doesn't even have to do as much with strength or working out as it does with personal preference. I'm a personal trainer, and I'm 5'9 215, and I happen to think carrying around something else that's 8 pounds is a pain. It's more about how it affects YOU.
