Thanks esoteric0, Those reviews are very useful. Did you get the TH-42PD25U/P? Many sites are saying Panasonic just replaced the TH-42PD25U/P with the TH42PD50U - not sure if there are differences. Let me know what you think of it.

It appears to be EDTV (HD -compatible meaning it will take an HD input) Other sites are listing it as EDTV.

I think amheck was talking about the Panasonic. On their website they list a 50" Panasonic rear projection LCD (Item #413510 ) for $2252. I am guessing this is it because if it really is plasma it is the hottest deal I have ever seen and I may have to go on a road trip to MD!
