updupdate: i believe the problem was an unstable frequency. upped the multiplier from 7 to 7.5, now she runs at 1Ghz without a glitch at 133fsb. gonna try for more later... max temp so far=39c --j

well, in any case, i've decided to bite the bullet and go ddr. i'll let you all know how it turns out. ordered crucial 1600ddr 256MB yesterday, along with an iwill ka266-R. Got an athlon 950, since I couldn't find 1Ghz's anywhere at a decent price...hopefully it overclocks as well as the 1Gig...

okay, i just got back from looking at arcticooler's site, and maybe i was a bit wrong. it looks like the metal coming out of the hsf is the clip--non-moving you just have to get it onto the socket, etc. anybody w/any experience with this? i don't have the mb yet... as for the tim (thermal...

There's some kind of metal bracket coming out from the hsf, but it's a nonmoving part--it would seem that there would be some kind of mechanism to clip it to the hsf... does anybody have a pic? in any case, i did call on friday and left a message. i'd like to get a cpu up and running by...

i got my cooler via airborne, not one week after i ordered it. so on the issue of shipping, i have no gripes with ocz as of yet... but, what i received was a bubble-wrapped heatsink and fan. as i currently run a k6-2, i'm not experienced with the athlons, but shouldn't there be some kind of...

:confused: okay, so considering that anyone can get a 100mhz fsb athlon running at 133+ easily, what's the point in waiting/shelling out for one of the new 133fsb parts? are they better in any way, besides being 'certified' to run at the said fsb? i'm not getting it... --jonathan
