ABIT KT7 and NVIDIA MX / GTS

Well I think I got it fixed. I did a bunch of things in the agp settings in the bios. Which one actually did it I don't know. But I turned off fast writes, killed agp 4x, and once in win98, I did some things with direct3d setup mainly it had anti-aliasing on, so I turned that off, and v-sync...

geforce2 MX the ONLY crappy component I bought...

No serriously dude...I'm having your same problem. Check this link out http://www.abit-usa.com/english/index.htm then go to faq, motherboards, and then KT7 You ahve to maunually set your AGP driving value under advanced chipset features. Try DA or EA. DA works on my GTS 2 Then install via 4-in 1.

ABIT KT7 and NVIDIA MX / GTS

I'm having a fun time with this combo on my computer. I get general instability, that behaves like heat related issues. However my processor is running very cool along with my case. Nothing is overclocked. The real kicker is when I run a game, or anything else in 3d the instability is bad...

geforce2 MX the ONLY crappy component I bought...

I'm having a very similar issue the problem is the motherboard and your video card(specifically the MX's and the GTS). If you go to abit's website (www.abit.com.tw) and read the faq it will tell you that you need to set a value in your bios I can't remember which one, but it's some hex number...

    P III 800 or AMD t-bird 900

well for what I care about the mb/s seem to me to be equal. Via quality aside. I need DMA 66...I tend to upgrade HD when I upgrade puter. So I don't care about DMA 100 Don't care about intel's memory constraints, as I'll probably never have more than 256Megs let alone 512. don't care about...

    P III 800 or AMD t-bird 900

Where have you found a 1GHZ Athalon for 345? I've seen the P3 for 249 and the T-bird for 250-300 with alot of prices around 270.(personally I think the 250 was a misprint)

    P III 800 or AMD t-bird 900

I've found the 900 to be 30-50 dollars more expensive than the 800EB PIII , which would you choose? Definatly taking overclocking into consideration, but I will only manipulate the FSB on the AMD. Don't want to ruin a 270 dollar chip. Thanks in advance.

    Expected overclock PIII and AMD

Thanks, Originally I was just going to get a t-bird, because of price/performance, but now that the pIII 800 is so affordable, It leaves me a little torn(I've found it to be 30 to 50 dollars cheeper). I know I'm talking about a performace difference of just a couple %(if that), but which...

    Expected overclock PIII and AMD

What kind of over clock can I expect from an 800 MHZ PIII FC-PGA? How bout a 900MHZ t-bird with only FSB manipulations?
