I've taken in many monitors. And usually they charge 20 to look at it and the average costs is 60 to fix and they usually use the 20 to look at it towards the cost of fixing. i've gotten a 300 dollar monitor for free took it there and got it repaired for 60 and have it still that was 3 yrs ago...

I always use a grounding wrist strap, and a anit-static pad under the pc that i'm working on. I think if it is your job to work on pc's then in my opinion you can't take the chance of not working w/a wrist strap. Because when you do zap a pc and you have to tell a paying customer that there...

thanks it's a netpliance, used to strictly browse the internet on a 56k modem. I moded it to use a hard drive and overclocked it. to use it as a little linux box to learn linux so i don't have to make a full computer. really neat only cost me 35 dollars and had the spare parts lying around...
