I posted this in Technical Support. but got no answers there. Maybe someone will help me out here. Thanks

I'm trying to set up a system using the Epox KHA+ motherboard and a Promise Ultra66 modified into a Fasttrak66.

I installed the OS on a drive on the primary IDE controller, installed the RAID controller and installed the drivers, and then saved the OS partition in a Ghost image. Device manager tells me there is no problem with it.

I then installed the RAID array and restored the image created earlier on to the arrray. When I reboot, Windows XP hangs when I try to log on.

Before this I tried to install XP pro directly on the RAID array, like I have done succesfully with other motherboards, although these had onboard Promise RAID controllers. After the initial file copy and restart, setup asked if I needed to install third party SCSI or RAID drivers. I hit F6 to install the drivers from the floppy, and then I got a BSOD with a 0x0000007B error

What could be causing this?

Is Ghost compatible with RAID setups? I have some vague recollection that it doesn't.

Oh yes, it worked fine on the motherboard this replaced - a MSI K7T with an onboard Promise RAID controller.

Ghost has no problem restoring the image per se. It is only when I boot up the system and try to log in that I have the problem. I can actually get to the Welcome screen in XP.

I have that same raid card and I knoticed w/winxp it dosn't like it when you install new hardware. usually whenever I get a new piece of hardware I need to do a fresh install. And it's because when you activate windows, it has a file in the reg somewhere w/your hardware settings and it sends a copy of that file to microsoft telling it what kind of hardware you have. And when you install new hardware the os looks at that new hardware, and says it's not what I have down as the hardware when I installed and starts screwing up. And since you ghosted w/that old mobo, that file that the os has on record in that ghost is your old mobo not the new one. So it locks up.

btw don't know if your having a problem w/the drivers for the fasttrak 66 card but the win2k drivers work great it'll say not digitally signed but still works like a charm. for me anyways :)
