Is my vcore safe for 24/7 usage? Advice Needed.

How long will you use the E6600? There is a decent percentage chance that your processor at that temp and voltage will experience problems within 3 years. I suggest that if you want to keep that overclock to invest in better cooling (water, refrigeration).

8800 GTX in an Antec P180 - blocks HDD bays?

the filters do work for most of the dust...my place is pretty dusy so I clean it about once a month -> there are other intakes for the case via vents which cause dust to still make it in (and a small gap around the filter itself).

CPU fan connecter has 3 holes

4 pin adapter is for PWM fans, just plug in the 3pin into the 4pin socket, leaving the extra pin unconnected. http://www.pcsilent.de/showInfoPage.do?name=funktionpwm

    DVI-I to HDMI

You can find a simple adapter (DVI to HDMI and DVI cables) at Walmart for 10-15. Try it out and if you don't like the quality return it without any problems

What do you use the computer for? What other parts do you have in there? My initial response is to go with the cheaper 3800+ and wait for quad core upgrade.

    Couple of CPU questions

For all processors in relation to the processor speed external memory is the limiting factor, whether it is DRAM or a fixed disk (hard drive). Location of memory controller: AMD - inside CPU die, lower latency accesses to memory than external controllers Intel - external to CPU die, in...

    Couple of CPU questions

Architecture refers to the specific implementation of an instruction set. x86 is the instruction set and is convenient because today's x86 processors can run code written 20 years ago. All these processors break the work of executing an instruction into stages. This process is known as...

    Couple of CPU questions

I would search Wikipedia for Amdahl's Law. Processors represent a decision of tradeoffs between speed, power, parallelization, performance, and ability to manufacture (fab). These tradeoffs vary between platforms (servers, mobile, etc.), programs (ability to parallelize), performance (number of...

    Cooling the Antec P180

My system config is pretty similar. 1. Closed off the vents around the power supply and near the video card 2. One PCI slot cover with vents near my X-Fi card near the bottom 3. The 120x38 fan up top, with 120x25 in the front and rear. All Antec Tricool. 4. Zalman 9500 AT for the E6600 5...

Help me justify X2 3800 over E6300 please!

It really all depends...what type of video card do you have? Is it worth it to limit your motherboard selections? When do you want to do this upgrade?--Intel platform prices will settle in a little bit. What will you do on this system?--E6300 is much better in video tasks and gaming, but not...

    E6600 WTF

Windows XP has embedded support for speed changes. Choose a power scheme such as always on to disable the EIST. Alternatively you can install Intel Desktop Control Center and under the preferences tab you can disable EIST. - Update BIOS to 1304 (i think rev305s come with this version) - much...
