Time for SL
I have UD3P c2d with GeForce 8600GT
Can I just follow the lifehacker instructions w/no issues? I didn't see any reference to getting Graphics card installed correctly on them.
Or should I follow the multibeast stuff off of tony mac? My only real driver for going to SL I...
I actually googled my way to the tonymac site and think i'm going to go UD2 and now just have to come up with a case/cpu idea, i.e. 2 or 4 cores.
I'm not sure if i want 4 or 8gb of ram to start off with. I'm just tired of linux on my work laptop with 2gb of ram and fighting with visio/word in...
I'm going to call uncle on this, and try a pci ethernet card and see if that makes a difference. Is there a particular card to use that is 64bit SL compatible?
I saw one on pcwhiz/weaksauce however the links seem to be broken there and i can't find the one mentioned.
Thanks?
I've been digging all over the net for info on pptp help with linux, gave up on that setup and figured I'd try with the hackintosh and got even less far.
When I try to connect on my ud3p kit(10.5.8) i get:
Sun Jan 24 13:18:54 2010 : sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6ae4cbf8>...

i assume this is all working fine for you with the usb audio dongle...
is applehda the only kext i have to delete to remove the audio support for the ud3p? I think its causing skype to blow up on my when i try to make a call, since i updated to 10.5.8 and my onboard audio isn't working.
we'll see, waiting for a 8gb to come in the mail so i can go for SL...
Its mostly a time thing, a zotac-ion HTPC project fell into my lap for xmas, so that's been my new tinker toy. Now that the usb audio is in the mail though, it probably means there's no excuse for moving to SL.
anyone notice a bunch of broken links at pcwizcomputer/weaksauce? the "show path...
I haven't taken the plunge to SL yet, however just noticed that the wife is asking for itunes-store support which requires safari 4 which requires me to update from 10.5.6 ->10.5.8.
It -looks- like from my searching that i can just go ahead, do that and reapply the patches from the 10.5.6 ud3p...
I gave up on the surge protection, wired everything to a UPS. Was pretty awesome when a neighbors tree fell down, and crushed his garage, tearing down the power lines and breaking two telephone polls. Was able to hop online while broadband/wireless was still up on my laptop to look up the power...
