Seems to be working fine in XP now that i changed the IDE cable but '98 is still up to its old tricks. Anymore ideas??

Changed the IDE cable and its gotten better. Maybe a bad cable, still taking awhile to load or recognize but havne't had a problem like it was. May give it a day or so to see how it goes.

Just sent an email to creative help center. My guess is RMA will be soon, just gotta run through the stupid stuff with them no it alls.

Thats the problem, it won't get to that point many times. When it actually recognizes a cd, it does what its supposed too. When I put a cd in 95% of the time it just spins and spins in the cdrom, while the light on the cdrom blinks like its trying then it eventually locks the computer up...

In XP right now and ya it shows the drive in XP, device manager says there isn't any conflicts with the device either just fyi

Have a Creative 5230E 52X CD-Rom. The problem is it decides to read cd's whenever it wants. If I insert a CD it may read it, and if it does upon ejecting it and putting it back it, it won't recongnize anything. This does this with Audio and Data cd's. Running both XP, and 98 with an Epox...

GT3 rocks. Graphics kick arse, most realistic game I've ever played. However the lack of black marks in burnouts and spins takes away from the game some. But we can't get too picky

Some peole have it and some don't. I know when I gave blood last, i got woozy also. Could be a million different reasons why. Immune system low, getting sick, didn't eat enough the day before...etc... Just be glad its over and you'll be fine.

I've used jiffy lube before, many times actually. I guess it depends on where you come from, are the people there honest??? I trusted the people that did mine, hometown people, and knew a couple of them from school and football. Still have the car, and got it 3 years ago so they didn't do...
