I downloaded some files that need to go into autoexec.bat, but I don't know how to put them there...pretty new to computers, absolutely fresh to DOS. I know how to type an address, like C:\WINDOWS\etc...but I don't know the exact wording to use so as not to kill my computer. Help?

Is there a best way to hook up the second hard drive? I mean Master/Slave, Secondary, etc. A CD player is in the box also. Dumb question...but I want to avoid a long trial-and-error process if I can.

thanks for the post, Levco. BTW I see while looking at Sharky's that memory is cheap right now. What's the difference between CAS2 and CAS3 (128mb)? Which is right for Aopen MX3W and Celeron 700? I promise not to bug you forever but while I have your attention....

I have purchased the cpu and mb in Anandtech's value soho system (Buyers' guide; Value Systemns--November 2000). Someday soon I will get a case and some memory and a hard drive and try to put it together. Looking at the pamphlet that came with the mb (Aopen MX3W) I see I will need help. Maybe...

I'm losing my free isp too. Freeinet went away, now I have Freelane which uses 1stUp so I suppose it will die tomorrow. If it does I will try i495. Check it out. Closer to free than most, and said to be good. Cheap is okay...in general. Thoreau was my man.

Inexperienced net shopper, and I found the components I want through Yahoo at a merchant called PCLink2000. But when I look on resellerratings.com, they aren't there. Does anyone have experience with them? Does their association with Yahoo give me some security? Advice, please.

I have AMD k5 PR133 (@166) with Abit sm5a. SiSoftSandra says I have 1 Mb video memory and need a minimum of 4Mb. So what do I do? Get a new video card? If so, which one? I mainly use internet, not games...Or is there a way of upgrading the video card I have? Thanks for any help. Cheap is...
